Abstract
Long hair follicular unit excision (FUE) is a revolutionary surgical technique; the donor hair is harvested with intact hair strands, thus maintaining the natural length. The recipient area is unnoticeable or has only a minimal trace of hair transplant surgery, which is quite a merit to those who wish to keep the surgery covert. Additionally, the long hair strands cover the recipient area during the postoperative shedding period to a considerable degree, deriving high satisfaction in patients.
The hair shafts of the graft being scored as well as those of adjacent grafts should not tangle around the punch tip. However, this method requires a special set of surgical equipment and special surgical know-how. In this article, we introduce our novel surgical approach to and methods for long hair FUE.
