Abstract
The desirable direction of transplanted hair depends on two factors: direction of the incision and the manner the graft is placed into the recipient site. When the implanter is properly loaded, for sagittal incisions (for right-handed placer), the bevel should face left and be turned around 90 degrees clockwise. For coronal incisions, the bevel should face down toward the skin and no rotation is required. When the implanter is not properly loaded and the rotation is done as described above the grafts will not fit the site properly and adjustments can be done with an angled forceps. The Spin Maneuver (SP), described in this article, allows correct placement even when the implanter is not loaded properly and avoids the use of forceps for adjustments.
