Abstract
Fenugreek seeds are a natural plant product that some claim are effective in managing hair loss, such as androgenetic alopecia (AGA). This review finds that while a few small studies show its efficacy, there is no strong evidence to recommend its routine use in the management of AGA. However, knowledge of the product is necessary for the trichologist, in view of its potential to interact with antiplatelet, antiarrhythmic, and anti-hypoglycemic drugs. Patients who have history of consuming fenugreek should be advised to stop using it 5 days prior to surgery.
